Job Title: Wastewater Operator
Position Reports To: Plant Manager
FLSA Status: Hourly
Position Purpose Summary: The Wastewater Operator for the daily operation of and repairs, up keep and maintenance to the Wastewater systems.
Principal Job Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all Food Safety Policies and GMP practices.
- Applicable department/area of responsibility training to be completed and maintained
- Perform maintenance for the Wastewater systems
- Maintain Wastewater Operations to insure safe workplace
- Insure safety measures are enforced throughout the facilities
- Comply with MDNRE discharge permits
- Perform daily equipment inspections
- Perform bi weekly water smapling during pack season
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on the Wastewater Systems
- Complete Preventative maintenance records
- Keep wastewater pump hous and office clean and secure
- Keep tools and equipment in good working order and put away in the proper locations
- Use/wear all personal protective equipment required by the company
- Ensure Wastewater Systems are ready for the production needs
- Snow Removal
- Assist other departments when needed

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Broad knowledge and experience in forklift/loader/Tractor
- Excellent skills in safety
- Computer Skills
- Background in Agriculture
- Can effectively read, write and effectively communicate in English
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to pass State of Michigan Wastewater Operator test within one year of employment
Education and Experience:
- Degree or equivalent experience: high school diploma or equivalent
- Years of experience: 1-3 years in Agriculture
- Experience in Wastewater Operations preferred
Physical Demands of the Position:
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to have the ability to Sit, stand, walk, kneel, climb, use hands for typing and writing
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this postion, the employee is exposed to variable tempatures of both heat and cold; exposure to wet and snow.
