Job Title: Quality Lab Tech 3
Position Reports To: Quality Supervisor
FLSA Status: Hourly
Position Purpose Summary: The Quality Lab Tech 3 position is responsible for monitoring and controlling all aspects of the lab that they are working in. This includes, but not limited to, training of level 2 lab technicians, ensuring control of the HACCP system their designated production line, communicating quality issues with other departments, interfacing with computer systems and calibration of all lab equipment.
Principal Job Responsibilities:
- Serve the needs of customers and all stakeholders
- Adhere to all Food Safety and GMP Policies
- Perform regular foreign material checks
- Perform regular equipment checks
- Monitor and manage GMP policies and practices
- Monitor and perform regular HACCP checks
- Monitor and perform GMP checks
- Grade product
- Communicate quality issues with production
- Assist in calibration of equipment
- ADDITIONAL LEVEL 3 REQUIREMENTS
- Assist with the training of departmental lab techs
- Demonstrate knowledge of all lab procedures
- Enter testing data into the quality software system
- Communicate quality issues with other departments

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Above average skills in quickly and efficiently grading product, computer skills; attendance
- Excellent skills in communication
- Demonstrated ability to use of technical equipment
- General knowledge of HACCP and GMP’s
- Experience in working well with others
Education and Experience:
- Degree or equivalent experience: High school diploma
- Years of experience: 1-3 years
- Specialized training in: HACCP and GMP’s
Physical Demands of the Position:
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee must possess the ability to communicate with others; stand for long periods of time; kneel in close areas; work around equipment; good vision (able to catch small pieces of foreign material); the ability to handle varing levels of stress
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee may experience moving parts and vehicles; variable tempatures of both heat and cold; wet environment; loud environment.
