    Position Reports To:       Quality Supervisor

    FLSA Status:                       Hourly

    Position Purpose Summary:  The Quality Lab Tech 2 position is responsible for assisting the level 3 lab technician with grading product at the end of the process.  This includes but is not limited to, grading, calibrating, tracking GMPs and HACCP, and communicating all aspects of production and quality that happen throughout a work shift.

    Principal Job Responsibilities:

    • Serve the needs of customers and all stakeholders
    • Adhere to all Food Safety and GMP Policies
    • Perform regular foreign material checks
    • Perform regular equipment checks
    • Monitor and manage GMP policies and practices
    • ADDITIONAL LEVEL 2 REQUIREMENTS
    • Perform regular HACCP checks
    • Monitor and perform GMP checks
    • Grade product
    • Communicate quality issues with production
    • Assist in calibration of equipment
    • Learn and follow all lab procedures

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Excellent skills in communication
    • Above average skills in attendance
    • Demonstrated ability to quickly and efficiently grade product, use of technical equipment
    • General knowledge of HACCP and GMP’s
    • Experience in basic quality grading and working with others

    Education and Experience:

    • Degree or equivalent experience: High School diploma
    • Years of experience: 6 months to 1 year

    Physical Demands of the Position:

    • While performing the duties of this position, the employee must possess the ability to communicate with others; stand for long periods of time; kneel in close areas; work around equipment; good vision (able to catch small pieces of foreign material); the ability to handle varing levels of stress

    Work Environment:

    • While performing the duties of this position, the employee may experience moving parts and vehicles; variable tempatures of both heat and cold; wet environment; loud environment.
