    Job Title:                                             Acid Technician

    Position Reports To:                       Production Supervisor

    FLSA Status:                                       Hourly

    Position Purpose Summary:  Acid Technicians are responsible for checking, monitoring and adjusting the level of Tsunami being dosed, and completing Peroxyacetic Acid testing. In addition, they are also responsible for testing of the Peroxidase testing.

    Principal Job Responsibilities:

    • Serve the needs of customers and all stakeholders
    • Adhere to all Food Safety and GMP Policies
    • Follow all paperwork rules
    • Input testing data onto computer spreadsheets
    • Adjust amout of Tsunami being dosed using automated system
    • Perform Peroxyacetic Acid testing
    • Perform Peroxidase testing
    • Notify Manager and Supervisor if levels are above or below required PPM.
    • Able to work in a hot, cold and wet environment
    • Additional Acid Technician responsibilities:
      • Performs floor cleaning in raw or finished goods area using a squeegee, broom and shovel
      • Performs sorting for any defects and foreign material in finished goods area
      • Label any necessary product accordingly

    • Ability to lift and move up to 50#s repeatedly throughout the shift

    Physical Demands of the Position:

    • While performing the duties of this position, the employee must possess manual dexterity required for using hand tools and operating machinery; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; able to stand or walk for prolonged periods.

    Work Environment:

    • While performing duties of this position, the employee will be exposed to wet and slippery floors, occasionally moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud; variable temperatures of both heat and cold.
